Worldiki Intromercial

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

We were playing around with the camera on our last day in Borneo, and we put together this little Worldiki intromercial.

If you like this video, let us know in the comments! If you don’t, well you can let us know too. Just don’t be too hard on us, we know we’re not pros at video editing.. yet. ;)

For now we’ll only be showing it on this site in the section “What’s Worldiki”, but who knows, people who visit this site might like it and show it on their sites, or tell their friends about it! *hint hint*

An Early Xmas

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

We’ve been good this year and so we’ve asked Santa to give us some early Xmas gifts. And after handing over our hard-earned cash to the fat man in red, he willingly obliged and gave us what we wanted.

So what did we ask ol’ santa for? The kit we needed to travel the world and film our adventures. Or at least the kit we didn’t yet have.

That includes a brand new laptop with a Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB ram and 160GB HDD and best of all, it weighs less than 2KG! Why didn’t we choose a mac? We’d already spent the money on the software and didn’t want to buy it again for the mac. Also, Grace needs Windows for her trading software (G: yes, Macbook is way sexier, but my trading is more important than that!). Besides, this laptop is 350 grams lighter than the lightest mac!

How would we show you life under water, or for that matter in the pouring rain without a water-proof case for our video camera? So Santa gave us one of those as well!

And last but not least, so that we could film for longer without our batts running out, we got a super-long-lasting mega-powerful battery for our camera :D It weighs about as much as a brick and is only a tenth of the size, maybe they’re using Uranium as the secret ingredient??

Sadly though, we couldn’t get any photos of Santa, he claimed to be camera-shy. I’d swear I saw him taking pictures with kids on his knees last Xmas though. Something fishy must be going on?

Where Are All the People??

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

This was our first trip flying budget out of Singapore and we got to go through the brand new budget terminal that has just been built here. It is only a stone’s throw from the other terminals, and yet a world away! Take a look at the video!

The first thing we noticed when we came in was that the place looked like a ghost town!! Nothing like the crowded, yet highly efficient terminal 1 & 2. Where did all the people go? Does no one fly budget here? Or more likely, most budget carriers don’t yet go to the budget terminal.

The Fun Begins

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

We just touched down in Singapore at a bit past midnight local time and are just back home after what has been a really great trip in Macau and Hong Kong! This trip has given us excellent insight into how we can plan our future travels and how we can make this website a very exciting place to visit!

To start off with we will be editing the videos of our trip and posting clips of them here for all of you to see! We have quite a few hours of footage and will be selecting the best (best of us anyway ;) ) for our video blog :)

There are also some exciting new projects we will be working on in our travels! We’ll update you with more information soon, but for now, we’ll be calling it a night since it’s 2am and we need some sleep!
