Our Mobile Office
Since we’re working on the go, we need to have everything we need to do our work and update our blog. Here’s a rundown of the hardware in our current mobile office. As needs arise we’ll be adding the necessary equipment to it.
1) Acer Travelmate 6292 - Core 2 Duo 2.0ghz, 2gb ram, 160gb hdd, running windows vista and Linux (Debian).

This machine packs a lot of punch in just under 2kg. Grace will use it for her trading and I will use the Linux partition for development. We also have a slightly bigger Compaq Presario with just Linux on it which we’ll take on longer trips.
2) HP Ipaq which Grace uses to monitor currency prices on the go. We also use it with GPS for finding our way in unfamiliar places.

3) Sony HDR-SR7E Camcorder with a 60gb hdd which we use to record the videos for our blog. Since we’re also using it for photos, we can’t really take a picture of it now.
4) Sony bluetooth mic for the camera. Notice that odd little thing with a blue flashing light on footage of Grace or me? That’s this little thing telling us it’s working!

5) Sony waterproof case. This doesn’t really help with trading or our IT biz, but it’s great fun to film with it!

6) Three Sony Ericsson phones of different makes and models. These phones are pretty tough and great for places like Borneo.

Is it a hassle to bring all these along?
I think that’s just all the requirements and gadgets for you to run the mobile office….Well Done!!! I wonder when I’m going to be able to do that….
